Spanish for Perfectionists No. 1 is the first in a series of innovative ebooks and accompanying videos for people who have studied Spanish but still find it challenging to participate in real conversations with native Spanish speakers. The ebook consists of interesting study materials and online activities linked to five engaging video-lessons based on a variety of topics. We focus on colloquial language, spoken at normal native-speaker speed. We also explain some tricky grammar points and suggest some effective strategies you can use to learn languages more effectively.
The video-lessons and activities in Spanish for Perfectionists No. 1 (plus your dedication and hard work) will help you to:
• improve your understanding of spoken Spanish;
• enhance your fluency;
• expand your vocabulary;
• learn a lot of colloquial Spanish expressions;
• tune your ear to the sounds of Spanish and refine your pronunciation;

Spanish for Perfectionists No.1 consists of five interesting and entertaining video-lessons. If you follow our suggestions for in-depth study, each lesson will take 4-6 hours, spread out over several sessions, including some repeat sessions for Spaced Repetition. Each lesson consists of:
• A private link to a video in Spanish, with key words and phrases explained on-screen in English. The videos are based on a variety of interesting topics, such as the origin of the long workday and the siesta in Spain; clips from movies and TV programmes; how to communicate in Spanish on the telephone; how to express rejection, enthusiasm, approval, doubt, and other feelings or ideas; various colloquial uses of common words such as «salir» or «leche»; or tricky grammar points such as the use of «el mar» or «la mar».
• A complete transcription in Spanish, with key words and phrases linked to explanations in English that appear either in endnotes at the end of each lesson, or in a popup, depending on the device and the reading app you are reusing.
• Vocabulary notes in Spanish and English. These notes include information about the contexts in which the words are used: for example, formal or informal situations.
• Online activities to help you internalize new learning. These activities allow for customization according to your own learning preferences.
• Grammar notes explaining points that arise in the videos.
• Online activities to help you evaluate your knowledge and skills in Spanish.
